I received two prayer request emails this morning. The first email was from my sister-in-law, Emily. She works with Avery's (a little girl who will be having brain surgery on November 16th) grandmother. Please read her story and lift her up in your prayers.
Dear Friends and Family,
As most of you know, we found out in July that our little girl has an Arachnoid cyst in her brain. The literature states that this type of cyst is common, but hers is in a very rare location. Avery's doctors at Johns Hopkins have told us that there are only 30 other children they can gather research on with a cyst in this location. In these cases, the children are older, their cysts are bigger, and their symptoms are worse. Since Avery is only 5, we feel like we have a head start and want to be proactive now versus reactive later. The possibilty of further damage to Avery's brain is not an option for us. We have embraced how she is but do not want her to get worse. Therefore, we, along with Avery's doctors, have decided to have the cyst removed. We are hopeful it will offer her a future without dizziness, headaches, neck pain, falling, and possible seizures.
Our sweet girl will undergo a Posterior Fossa Craniotomy on November 16th, 2009.
Won't you please pray that she comes out of the surgery the same, if not better than, she is right now?
The second email was from my friend Ms. Marcia. She works with baby Tripp's great aunt. Please vist this family's blog and say a special prayer for this family. www.randycourtneytripproth.blogspot.com (for some reason I couldn't link the site so please copy and paste it).
After reading both of these stories my heart was aching for these families. I can not imagine what they are going through. I know the majority of you who read my blog believe in the power of prayer. I too am a firm believer. Jesus tells us in Matthew 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." There are so many families who are going through sickness and diseases with their babies. I am so blessed to have 3 healthy baby girls and I will forever give thanks. As soon as I receive an update on Avery I will post about her surgery.
