The May's Vocabulary

We are constantly laughing at the girl's pronunciations of words. The May has recently had quite a few comical ones. She busted her lip open the other night and as she was screaming in pain she kept telling me: "I am blooding everywhere". The girls have recently been introduced to Vanilla Wafers (which they both love). The May calls them "billa mafers". She calls a trampoline a "jumpoline". As I am typing this The Belle just asked me: "where is the mashed potato head?" (Ms. Potato Head) These two are in The Belle's words: hicarious!

I am a grown up

I remember when I brought The May home from the hospital thinking that The Belle was such a big girl. It was like she grew up over night. Well, the same thing happened when I brought The Lynn home...The May grew up. The week before The Lynn was born I was holding The May in the recliner and I thought to myself she isn't going to be my little baby anymore. And sure enough she is turning into a big girl. But, what is really sad to me is how much The Belle has grown up. Yesterday she went to children's church. This is a huge deal to me. Children's church is for big kids. The parents of kids who are in children's church are grown ups. Thats when it hit me...I am a grown up. I know I am 27, I am married,I have birthed 3 babies, I drive a mini-van, but now I not only have babies, but I have a child. She can dress her ownself, put her shoes on, she asks really good questions (like what does Holy Moly mean), she will sit and hold the paci in The Lynn's mouth for 30 minutes until she goes to sleep. I knew it would happen but man it really does happen fast.

Mission Not So Impossible

We just returned from our first trip to Wal-Mart. I was so stressed out about this trip but I had to go since baby girl (who I am now going to refer to as The Lynn) needed formula. Believe it or not it was not that bad. The Belle and The May rode in the buggy while The Lynn was in the baby carrier attached to me. Luckily, I only had to get a couple of things becasue The Lynn began crying while we were in the checkout line. She screamed the entire way home. The worst part of the trip was the train we were stopped by. So, for 15 min. (which seemed like eternity) The Lynn was screaming. Poor thing was sitting in poop. The Lynn and The May are both asleep now. It actually felt good to get out.

One Month Old

# 3 was one month old yesterday. It is so hard to believe she is already a month old. I took her to the Pediatrician today. She weighed 9lbs 5ozs. She pooped and spit up all over the nurse. I felt really bad since we were the first patients this morning. Poor girl is probably still wearing # 3's poop on her. The Belle and The May had a great time at Grandmama and Pappy's. The May was so tired from all the fun she crashed when we got home (thank goodness). Life is getting back to normal around here (although, I don't think it will ever be "normal" here). I am just adjusting to the lack of sleep, the messes, the crying, etc. There are very chaotic moments and then there are great moments. The Pediatrician had great advice for me. She said to make everyday fun..somehow. She suggested turning on some music and have a dance party everyday. The girls love it when we turn on music and dance so, I think we will try it when things get stressful. I don't want to look back in a few years and not have any fun memories. So, let the dancing begin.

I love holidays!

Yesterday was a great day. Husband was home since it was MLK day. We met Uncle Josh, Aunt Sarah, Margo, and Jude at the high school track. The kids rode their bikes while I walked with # 3. Then we all came back to our house to eat kabobs for lunch. The kids played all afternoon. The May did take a nap. I think the lack of sleep caught up with her. She was sent to time out for throwing a fit and when I went in to check on her she was barely hanging on to the bed sound asleep. I woke her up after 2 hours. We were all in bed and asleep by 9:30. # 3 slept really well last night. She only woke up once at 3:00. I am really hoping that she will continue only getting up once at night. The Belle and The May are spending the night with Grandmama and Pappy tonight. # 3 has her one month check up tomorrow and Grandmama offered to let the girls spend the night so I would not have to drag all 3 to the pediatrician. It is so hard to believe that it has already been a month since she has been born. As I am typing this The Belle is holding the paci in # 3's face and The May is piling toys on top of her. Poor girl.

Baby Girl # 3 @ 2 Weeks Old

This picture was taken when baby girl was 2 weeks old. She has changed so much in just 4 weeks since her arrival.
There has been so much going on around here that I want to post about but I just dont have the time to do. I have been meaning to post about how baby girl # 3 arrived, how the girls have adapted to our new family, how I have been in a "Biggest Loser" dieting competition, how we are going stir crazy and so much more. This post however is going to be focused on The May.

The paci fairies came and took her paci a couple of weeks ago. She was on her last paci when she bit the nipple clean off. So, we told her it was broke. She asked if she could have one of the baby's paci's. I did not protest because I didn't feel up for the fight. So, I gave her a paci that was completely different than the one she has taken since birth. She continually asked me to wash the new paci as if something were wrong with it. Husband was putting her to bed one night when she laid her paci on the nightstand. He asked her why she did that and she told him that she needed a new one. So, he told her how the paci fairies came and got cousin Margo's paci when she was a little girl. The May loved that idea and was game for giving her paci to the fairies in return for a present. She went over a week without the paci before asking for it. Matter of fact, the day after the fairies came she burned her thumb on the stove and I was in shock when she did not ask for her paci. The hard part about the paci departure has been nap time. She has protested naps everyday since losing the paci. This is really hard on me because I NEED sometime to get things done or just have some quite. The girls need their time apart also. So, with all this said we are on day 3 without a nap and I must say this makes my days so much longer. I am not sure that she has "grown out of naps" because she is wiped out around 4:00 but, we are just taking it a day at a time.

Hopefully, I can post about the other things going on in our life soon.

Crazy Times

I figured out over the weekend what is wrong with The May. She is getting her 2 year molars. I was really getting worried that she had some terriible undiagnosed virus. Thank goodness its just her teeth. In other news... this morning I was changing baby girl's dirty diaper when a series of events took place. The May comes running in the nursery with no pants or panties on and crying that she just dropped Rainbow Dash (my little pony) in the potty. Then she let me know she was going to giver her a bath. The Belle announced from the kitchen that she had laid out everything for me to make peanut butter crackers for her. Sure enough on the counter a knife (already inserted into the peanut butter), crackers, and a plate were awaiting my arrival. As, I was preparing the crackers (and listening to baby girl scream) I heard The May say now I will blow dry your hair. My life is insane! As of right now it is 11:00 and we are all still in pajamas.

Manic May

I am done with this day. 8:30 pm can not come soon enough. The May is an emotional wreck. She woke up crying and has not stopped. When the girl cries it is so loud (which is not good with a newborn who is sleeping). She is laying in the hallway in the fetal position with her head buried in her blanket screaming. She has been on antibiotic since last Friday for what we thought was a UTI (which came back negative) but, she is still on the antibiotic just in case. I wish there were some excuse for her behavior but I honestly think she is just a big ball of emotion.

Catch Up

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since I have posted. Life is so crazy right now. Today is my first day without Husband home with me. I am living life minute to minute right now. Managing 3 kids 3 and under is not easy. Not to mention trying to do dishes, laundry, and sleeping whenever there is a peaceful moment. But, I know it will all get a little easier as I adapt. Here are some pictures from baby girl to Christmas. I can barely remember Christmas. Let me just say both girls enjoyed opening all their presents. I think their favorites are the new bikes.
