Fudge Mouth

Our nightly routine is exhausting to say the least. The girls bedtime is 7:30 so we start our nightly routine of baths, put on pajamas (or jomminies as The Lynn calls them), blow dry hair, brush teeth, floss teeth, rinse with fluoride, bed time story, and last but not least tuck everyone into bed. The tucking everyone into bed is a routine all in itself. Each girl must have their specific pillow pet (whale for The Belle, 2 lady bugs for The May, and a bumblebee for The Lynn), their special doll (a minnie mouse doll for The Belle, Madeline and Genevieve for The May, and Cleo the dog for The Lynn), and of course their special blanket that must be placed on top of them just right. Then each girl needs a hug, kiss, I love you, and last but not least we all say "you are the best" to each other about 50 times. By the time Husband and I close the door we both let out a big sigh. Then it is free time for us! Free time usually consists of some sort of dessert and watching whatever we want on t.v.! Occasionally, someone sneaks out of bed to announce they have an itch, some part of their body hurts, or to tattle on someone for talking instead of going to sleep. The really bad part about this is once one of us has to return to their bedroom each girl must have another: kiss, hug, I love you, and another round of you are the best said back and forth. So, last night The Lynn was the one who came out to inform us that she was scared of going to sleep. Husband took her back to bed and was the lucky one to go through the goodnights.....again. As he tucked in The May (again) she said "why does your mouth smell like fudge?". If we aren't careful our night time party may be busted and we will never get these girls into bed!!

Catching Up!

The past couple of weeks have been so busy! So, here is a re-cap of what we have been up to.

Papa, Nana, and myself catered the girls Thanksgiving lunch at their school.

The Lynn got her first haircut! I know some of you are thinking "really? her first haircut? isn't she almost three?". Well, she was my only baby who actually had ringlet curls and I was a tad bit attached to those sweet curls. But, it was time and she was excited to get a haircut. I am happy to say the curls are still there!

We celebrated Thanksgiving! No Thanksgiving would be complete without a fun game of "mother may I" with cousins.

The most shocking event was Husband, Nana, and myself shopped from 10:00 Thanksgiving night until 6:00 Friday morning. That is right my sweet Husband braved all the shoppers all night long!! Unfortunately, I did not capture it on film.....but it happened! Now, we are gearing up for Christmas. The girls and I put out Christmas decorations this afternoon. Hopefully, we can continue our tradition of cutting down our Christmas tree this weekend.

Harvest Fun!

The Belle and The May had a harvest program/festival at their school last Saturday. All of the kids dressed as early Americans. The program was super cute! The May's class said The Pledge of Allegiance and sang My Country Tis of Thee. The Belle's class recited Romans 13:1-6 (and she even had a small speaking part with 2 other classmates). Grandmama was sweet enough to make The Lynn a colonial girl costume so she wouldn't feel left out.

Each family was asked to create a game booth for the festival. The kids had a great time going from booth to booth (they got candy at each one). I think their favorite game was the doughnut eating contest. The only rule was you could not use your hands. It was hilarious!

The Lynn didn't want to have anything to do with the doughnut eating contest, but she did enjoy getting her face painted!

There was also a cook off between all the moms. There was an award given for the best crock pot dish and for the best dessert. Yours truly can apparently cook a pretty good apple crisp cheesecake! The award: a pie cutter!

Artsy Smartsy!

One of my favorite traditions we have started is the Arts Festival! Who doesn't love glitter, glue, sand art, face painting, jewelry making, clay, and so much more?!?! It was a great day.

I wonder if I can fly now!

The Belle has been wiggling two of her bottom teeth for about 3 months now. FINALLY, last night one of the wigglers came out (well, as The Belle was going to bed Nana pulled it out; which delayed bed time for about 30 minutes). At first she was super excited that it came out. Then, when she realized there was some blood she started to feel like she was going to gag (unfortunately, that girl gets her highly sensitive gag reflex from me).

At 6:15 this morning (notice it is SATURDAY morning! Hence the day we can actually sleep in!) The Belle came into our bedroom and woke us from a deep sleep when she yelled "Momma, the tooth fairy came and left me money!". You would have thought it was Christmas morning. We all (including The May and The Lynn) went to check it out. Not only did the tooth fairy leave $1 but she also left behind some pixie dust. Everyone was very excited. The Belle asked if she could fly now, The May thought it was gold, and The Lynn wanted to know who was going to clean up the big mess!

I have a feeling the tooth fairy will be a frequent flyer around here from now on.

Charlotte Died

I'm not sure who took Charlotte's death worse; me or The Belle. The Belle had several questions like...who would take care of the babies, how did Charlotte get sick, where would Wilbur put the egg sac, but her main concern was who would bury Charlotte. The May took her death pretty well; she could not understand why we were crying. We will read the last chapter tonight and I am pretty sure more tears will fall.

Trick or Treatie (that is what we heard all night from The Lynn)!

I have to admit I was a little disappointed that my girls did not have matching costumes or a theme this year for Halloween. But, I think each costume showed their personality well!

This was the first year since The Belle was born that we did not participate in trunk or treat. I am a girl of tradition so I was a little sad. The change was nice though. Nana and Papa picked us up and we went to Grandmama and Pappy's church.

The church had game booths set up. The girls got candy at each game they played. They also got a balloon and a cupcake at the cake walk. We really enjoyed it!

Look at all the loot they got!

One of the girls won a pair of funny man glasses. They thought it was hilarious! I love their faces with the glasses on!
