First Kicks

VBS ended on Sunday and I am finally beginning to relax. It was such a fun week but man is it exhausting. The girls had a great time. The May attended Grandmama's bible school with Jude and Reba (Uncle John and Aunt Emily's dog). They were so cute. Grandmama made name tags for them. The girls wore flower name tags and the boy (Jude) wore a flip flop name tag. She had her house decorated with the same Hawaiin theme that we had at church. They also made crafts each day and ate tropical snacks. The Belle had a GREAT time at VBS. Her teacher was so wonderful. She had the cutest things planned for them. Yesterday we had our big musical finale. The Belle and her classmates sang two songs and she did awesome. I was worried that she wouldn't get on stage in front of a church full of people but, she did and it was so adorable. I am very excited about tomorrow. My dear friend Carla called and wanted to do something relaxing after VBS so we are off to the outlets. I am hoping to score some cute maternity clothes. Speaking of maternity... I felt the baby move for the first time on Saturday. I was pretty sure that it was movement but I feel all sorts of strange movements and wasn't sure. But, tonight confirmed it. I have felt the same fluttering several times and am confident that it is a baby in there moving around. It is such an amazing feeling and I know it will probably be my last so I want to take it all in. I am really glad I have this blog to document it all.

Berry Picking

Well, its been another busy week and it is only going to get busier. We did have time to take the girls to a blueberry farm on Thursday. The Belle had a wonderful time. She LOVED picking the blueberries. We stayed for about 45 minutes and picked 4 pounds of berries. She cried when we had to leave. The May on the other hand was not to fond of picking blueberries which surprised me. She liked it for about 10 minutes and then did not want anything else to do with it. Husband and I kept swapping her back and forth until....she figured out she could eat the blueberries then she was golden. The Belle didn't like eating the blueberries so it worked out beautifully. The Belle picked and The May ate. They were both so cute holding their buckets and of course I forgot the camera. I am sure we will go back soon. The farm is only a few miles down the road. It was actually cheap entertainment for them. Next time I will take pics. VBS begins tomorrow so it will be a busy week. I am so excited! It is going to be such a fun week for everyone. The Belle is also excited. The May will be staying with Grandmama everyday so that will be a huge help for me.

Oh yea, we also went to the circus this weekend. Hopefully, I will have time to post about that this week.

I've Been Tagged!

My blogger friend "Somewhere Between Pinot and Pacifiers" has tagged me. This is my first tag and I must say I am excited. So here we go.

1. What were you doing 10 years ago? I just finished the eleventh grade and was very excited about becoming a senior in high school. Husband and I had not started dating yet but we were very good friends.

2. What are five things on your to-do list today? Go to church. Go to my in-laws for Father's Day. Go to my parents house for Father's Day. Watch The Next Food Network Star. Make a to do list for this week.

3. Snacks you enjoy? I love strawberry ice cream. Chips, fries (with ranch dressing), cheesy stuff, chocolate, who am I kidding there isn't much I don't like.

4. Places you've lived: I have always lived here in the Sunshine State. My current house. My freshman yr. of college my parents built a new house. Before that I lived in the house I live in now with my parents (during high school).

5. What are 5 things you would do if you were a billionaire? Tithe to our church. Pay off our parents and close relatives bills. Buy a mini van. Build our dream home with a wrap around porch (nothing outrageous). Take husband to all the major league baseball parks.

6. People you want to know more about? This is so silly, but I am such a celebrity nerd. I love to hear when they do good things. Like Jenna Bush working with poverty stricken children and others who do amazing things. The media never tells the good things they do.

Cathching Up

I have been so busy here lately. I am behind on posting and reading my favorite blogs. The Belle and myself somehow managed to go the entire cold and flu season without a cold. Can someone explain to me why NOW we have a cold. Honestly, it is 105 degress and we have a cold. The bad part is I can't really take anything and The Belle REFUSES to take anything so we are just waiting it out. I am VBS director at church this year. VBS is a week away and crunch time is here. Another reason I haven't posted is because Husband is home. I don't know what it is about him being home, but I am so lazy when he is here. He is down to the wire now on his job hunt. Our insurance ends on July 31st so, we are getting a bit antsy. I did manage to get him a great Father's Day gift. I ordered him a Chicago style deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati's and a sampler cheesecake from Chicago's Eli's cheesecakes. The girls gave it to him on Friday since it had to be put in the freezer. The May and I had a slice of the apple streudel cheesecake today and it was delicious. Hopefully, we will have the pizza this week. Hope everyone has a great Father's Day weekend.

Oh To Be 3

The other night (not actually dark yet) we were driving down the road with the windows down. Husband and I were discussing finances...YUCK! We were saying how gas prices are so high and groceries are getting more and more expensive and how we REALLY are going to need a van within the next 6 months or so. That sick money feeling began to overwhelm me when I turned and looked at The Belle. There she is with her hands flapping out the window and her hair blowing in the wind. I thought to myself "you know she doesn't have a care in the world". We then began talking about her innocence and how all that other money stuff really doesn't matter. Then that yuck feeling turned to such a sweet moment that I hope to engrave into my memory forever.

Ants and Eggs

Seriously? There are some days when I walk into a room in my house and think to myself "Oh I'm sorry I have entered someone else's life." Let's take tonight for example. Husband went to church while the girls finished dinner and took baths. (Note to yourself: bath # 1). After their bath I tried to make an effort to clean up The Belle's room. While sorting through toys I found ants crawling under her window into the carpet. The girls were watching Laurie Berkner so, I quickly vacuumed her room. Once I finished I walked into the living room and found the following scene: The Belle watching Laurie and dancing with her guitar in hand. The May is sitting on the floor with 8 eggs on the carpet and 1 egg perfectly cracked open onto the carpet. I have NO idea how she managed to carry 9 eggs from the kitchen to the living room without dropping any. Better than that, I have NO idea how she actually cracked the egg open. It wasn't as if the egg was busted, the shell was still in tact. And tell me this....why, why, why, would you want to get eggs and bring them into the living room? As I was cleaning up the egg and throwing her into the bathtub again I was explaining to her that we don't play with eggs and that she made a mess. You know what she said to me (at 20 months old) she said: "Jude made the mess with the eggs". Can you believe it she is already trying to blame someone else? The girl needs to think things through though. Why did she blame Jude (who does not even live here)? At least blame The Belle. But, let's be honest The Belle would never do anything that consisted of getting her hands messy. You know what makes this entire situation better? Today was Husband's last day of work. School's out for Summer (or until he finds another job)!
