Stand By Your Man
Let me begin by saying this is a different kind of post. My purpose of this blogspot is mainly for my children but, today I feel the need to write about my husband. The two of us feel as if God is directing him into a different career path. Although, we are not sure what that path is we know that our trust is in God and he will provide a job. He has already told his principal he will not be back next year. He is getting some negative feedback from some friends of ours. They think he is putting his family at risk and it is the craziest thing they have ever heard of. I would rather him be in God's will than to stay where he is and be disobedient to God. I am so blessed to have a husband that is the spiritual leader of his house. He is also such a good husband and father. He helps out around the house and loves to be with his kids. Here lately, I have become aware that there are so many people who are in relationships where they don't enjoy being with their husband and kids. I'm not trying to say that we are perfect because we do have our problems. But, we love being with each other and our girls. My prayer is that our relationship will only grow closer over the years and that I will learn to love him more everyday.

Mama she is here and she has new clothes!
Let me begin by saying: I LOVE adult conversation! Please don't get me wrong I love my children. They are the greatest gift God has ever given me and I love being at home with them. So, today I had an entire day with Carla. It was great. The May had her 15 month check up, which included 2 shots. Note: I realize she will be 16 months old tomorrow, time got away from me. My friend Carla shows up at 7:15 am to feed and dress my children while I get ready. The Belle was beyond excited when she found out Carla was coming. She was standing on the couch looking out the window for her when I hear: "Mama, she is here and she has new clothes!" She brought the girls some cute Valentine shirts. So, while I took a shower and got ready she took care of the girls. The Dr. visit went well. The usual: The May cried after the shots but, was very brave and The Belle made NO eye contact with any of the staff. She is still traumatized by the DR. after all the ear infections, shots, and tubes: I don't think there is any hope for a reconciliation between her and the DR. EVER. Carla was wonderful she read to The Belle while The May had her check up. We then proceeded to Target, btw: lots of cheap boy clothes on sale right now. Ate lunch at AkDonnas aka McDonalds. Did a little grocery shopping while Carla pushed the girls and fed them M&M's. Stopped by our precinct to vote and came home. Carla spent the afternoon with me while the girls napped. It was so nice to just have someone there to talk to, especially a female. We will have to do it again, soon. As I am typing the rain is pouring down, so I must quickly put myself to sleep. This is the best sleeping weather.

My Very Own Cookie Monster
Where has the sun gone? It is so dreary here today. I honestly can not remember the last time I have seen the sun. The nasty weather gave me a craving for some comfort food. So, we had cookies after lunch today. I just had to include a picture of The May aka Cookie Monster. The girl loves to eat, but I think she loves cookies more than life itself. Her first word after mama and daddy was you guessed it: cookie! After she had 2 1/2 cookies she began banging on the table saying “want cookies, want cookies, aww gowne, aww gowne”. I felt sorry for the poor girl. Well, now she is on to her next favorite thing to do: SLEEP. She is the best little sleeper you have ever seen. She goes to bed by 8:30 and wakes up between 8:00 and 9:00 then takes a 2 – 3 hour nap. I have no idea (cough, cough) where she gets it from. Now I am on to folding the 10 million loads of laundry that has piled up in our room. Maybe the sun will reappear tomorrow.

Birthday/Baby Shower/MLK/Valentine
We are trying to get back into our routine. Husband took Friday off and he was off yesterday for MLK's birthday. So, the girls had daddy home for 4 days. The May went to the window several times today and asked for Daddy (so sweet). We had a good weekend. Saturday we went to AA's birthday party. The girls had a great time. Of course, their favorite part was the cake. Once we got home The Belle and I went to a baby shower while The May took a nap with daddy. The Belle talked my ear off the entire way to the shower. She wanted to know if there would be baby toys to play with, if we would sing happy birthday, and if she could play with the baby. I tried to explain to her that the baby has not been born yet and we were taking presents for the baby's Mama. She had a wonderful time and was very good. She talked about the shower the whole way home. She has really become a talker here lately. Sunday was church and the normal rush to eat lunch, take a nap, get ready to go back to church. The Belle and The May love church on Sunday night thanks to Ms. Gail, Ms. Linda and Katelynn. Neither one of them enjoy Sunday am, but we are working on it. After church we took the girls to McDonalds (the place is actually growing on me) and they had a blast on the playground. Monday we went to Hobby Lobby. The Belle had a complete melt down because she wanted Mickey Mouse valentines ($7.99 for a pack of like 6; RIDICULOUS!). I told her we would try to find some Minnie Mouse valentines somewhere else and she did not understand that concept, so when we went to checkout she flipped out (she went boneless; all you parents know what I am talking about; completely limp). The May would not go to husband, so I was stuck dragging (while holding The May) The Belle to the car. It was a HUGE scene and everyone was staring. Oh the joys of parenthood. We had a playdate with AA and Lay Lay today at the house. The May is asleep in her crib and The Belle has just drifted off in the recliner with me while I am typing. Tomorrow is gymnastics so it will be another busy day.

Brown/Blue Eyed Girls
On our way home from AA's birthday party today, The Belle informs us that she wants The May's brown eyes. This is beginning way too early. I know all females at some point in their life want what they don't have. Example: straight hair wants curly hair, curly hair wants straight hair, tall girl wants to be short, short girl wants to be tall. But, honestly she is not even three yet! I tried to explain to her that God created her with blue eyes and she should be happy with his creation. She didn't seem to concerned about that so, I told her Pappy has blue eyes. That thrilled her to the bone. Then she wanted to know what color eyes Grandmama has. What is funny: The May was asleep during this entire conversation. We still are not sure where this idea came from. I will give a more detailed post of our weekend later. For now, I am going to bundle up. It's like 25 degrees outside (burrr).

Don't Look at Me Like That Red Dinosaur
I had to make a trip to my favorite store today: Target (of course). So, I packed up the girls and off we went. Everyone had a nice car ride on the way there (thank you God). While standing at the registry computer (printing off 3 baby registry lists) The May decides she will stand in the front part of the buggy. As I am sitting her down the clerk at the counter is yelling Mam, Mam, your baby is standing up! Thinking to myself: “lady do you think this is my 1st trip to Target with two children I’m all over this situation, but thanks for making a scene”. I give her a smile and a big thank you and walk off. The Belle is looking at a Mickey Mouse book we found in the dollar spot and The May is happily riding along. Then things quickly spiral out of control. The Belle begins to yell “Look Mama it’s a red dinosaur”. Sure enough there in Target is what appears to be a red dinosaur. 2 feet in front of us is a Target associate wearing his red shirt and the biggest Mohawk dyed bright red! Now will someone please tell me why Target would allow their employees to do that? Anyways, Red Dinosaur walks by and I explain to The Belle that he works at Target and unfortunately has made a bad choice in hairstyles. So, then the cell phone rings which sends The May right out of this orbit. She is screaming uncontrollably because she too would like to talk on the phone. This sends The Belle into tears begging to be held. The screaming continues until the checkout aisle when guess who is checking us out: Red Dinosaur. The May is now happily playing with the cell phone and The Belle is back to admiring Red Dinosaur. The Belle asks “Mama what is Red Dinosaur doing, why is he messing with our stuff, do you see the Red Dinosaur?” So, I finally decide to make eye contact with Red Dinosaur and he is giving me this look like my three year old has offended him and I should provide some explanation. Thinking to myself: Red Dinosaur you have brought this upon yourself. I did not make that horrible hairstyle choice you did; so don’t look at me like that. I just gave him a smile and said have a nice day. As we are walking out the door The Belle asks “Mama where does the Red Dinosaur live.” I reply at Target, hopefully this won’t be detrimental to her development.

I deserve some sort of Medal/Award/or at least a pat on the back
So, today I babysat my niece (almost 3) and nephew (15 months). There were CRAZY times, but for the most part all went well. I have to brag just a little. I got all 4 children ASLEEP! The kids are in every room of the house. Who would have thought with 4 children in the house I would have time to post a blog, but it is possible. Maybe a 3rd baby wouldn't be that hard. Wait a minute, ok now I am back to reality. 3rd baby would be insane. Just want to let Mr. Rudy Giuliani know that he never had my vote, but if there was ever a glimmer of hope he has for sure lost it now. In the process of putting 4 children to sleep he called twice to tell me he wanted my vote. Well, Mr. Giuliani call at a decent hour and MAYBE I will listen. Well, I hear The May awakening I better run to keep her quiet. Only, 30 min. until hubby arrives! I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Just a typical Monday
Today was our normal routine. I am completely loving the fact that the girls are sleeping in here lately. We woke up at 8:15 (so wonderful). The girls had pop tarts, while I cleaned up from our laziness over the weekend. We went outside and played on the front porch. The girls love their push cars. The Belle pushed The May on her little car it was so cute The Belle would stop and say are there any cars coming? Nope no cars you can cross the street. It was cold so we came in early and enjoyed some hot chocolate. I am looking forward to a new episode of “Jon and Kate plus 8” tonight. I love that show! I think her insane world makes me feel better about my own sanity. Anyways! I took some time today listen to what the girls are saying and doing. It makes me so sad that they are growing up so fast. Here are a few things that are new in their vocabulary (this is for my documentation):
The Belle:
She now tells The May: No yelling, it is rude.
She loves learning new songs. One of my favorites is when she sings The Barney I Love You Song. She says I love you, I love you, happy family, kiss me from you. The words are completely out of order, but it’s so cute.
Her Uncle John played nativity this past weekend with her and her cousin Margo.
He was Joseph, Margo was Mary, The Belle was a shepherd, and John’s little dog Reba was a sheep. She thought that was the best thing, they dressed up in blankets. She is still referring to herself as shepherd.
While I am typing this The Belle walked in (with my sunglasses on and a diaper in hand) and said Momma that child has another big poop, poop. She is right The May has been pooping all day.
The May:
She is obsessed with climbing anything and opening/closing doors.
This afternoon she woke up early from her nap, while The Belle was still sleeping. She was asking for her and then saying, “don’t know” while throwing her hands up. She searched the entire house for her.
Grandmama gave her one of those “Fred Flintstone” cars for Christmas and she gets in and tells all of us bye-bye.
They really are so much fun right now. They adore each other, which I hope continues throughout their lives.

It's a Sad Day
Today was a very sad day. Husband and I attended our friend Mrs. Mickey's funeral. Mrs. Mickey has been a long time friend to husband and his family. She passed away Sunday Jan. 6th after suffering a heart attack. Her daughter Carla and I have become good friends within the past year. Her son, Curtis and husband were childhood friends. The funeral was without a doubt the largest I have attended. It was such a beautiful ceremony. I left there longing to have a deeper walk with my Jesus. She was such a Godly woman and her words of wisdom will forever be with me. Her and Carla love the girls so much. The Belle and Mrs. Mickey had a very special bond. It could be that Mrs. Mickey owned every Mickey/Minnine mouse thing there ever was and The Belle adores each of them. But regardless, she was a very important person in her world. I explained to The Belle that Mrs. Mickey had to move to heaven to live with Jesus. She understood somewhat and then questioned if she could move there too. God has done so many things to prepare us for this time of grieving. Mrs. Mickey passed away on Sunday and on Monday I got a thank you card in the mail from her. Only My God could arrange something so amazing. From that moment on I have had such a peace. I have included a picture of The Belle and Mrs. Mickey from this past Trunk or Treat at church.
Damsels in the Dryer
After husband left for church last night, I decided to let the girls play while I sent some emails. I did not hear them for awhile and thought to myself wow this is actually nice. So, a few minutes later I hear The Belle negotiating with The May. It went something like this: "not now", "its your turn" (which means its her turn), "in just a minute". Then I hear The May saying "no, no, no" followed by stomping feet. So, I proceed to find out what is going on. As I round the corner to the laundry room I see clothes all over the floor and no sight of the girls. This is what I found. If only bath time were this easy.

First Post
This is my first posting, which I am very excited about. I have to give thanks to blogger Somewhere Between Pinot and Pacifiers for the inspiration to begin this blog. Even though I have no idea who this woman is, I thought it would be such a great idea to journal my daily activities with my girls. I wish I would have started earlier, but oh well better late than never. I will from this point on refer to my children as The Belle (almost 3) and The May (15 months). Well, I am just going to dive in. Today began with dragging the girls out of bed so The Belle and I would arrive on time to gymnastics (or as she calls it: nastics). The Belle had a great time as she always does. We made a short stop at K-Mart to pick up a sippy cup and some juice for her, since she was so parched after the strenuous activities at gymnastics (exaggerated). So, we get in the car with her new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cup and I firmly instruct her to leave the lid on (she thinks she is capable of all things that Momma does). She gets mad because she wants to take it off. The cell phone rings: husband is calling to see how gym went. She would not talk to him like she always does due to the fact that she is pouting becasue I will not let her take the lid off the cup. So, pouting continues to Grandmama's house where she shows her behind and we quickly scoop up The May and head home. On the way home I realize I did not take the bills to the post office (because the new mailbox has not been put up). So, we make a quick trip to the post office and on the way home I try to keep The May awake until we get home. Next, is lunch which consisted of oatmeal for The May and ramen noodles for me and The Belle. Each child quickly takes a nap with no arguing. Husband came home with some delicious chocolates from a co-worker, so that was a bright spot in my day. Well, now I am going to begin dinner so husband can get to church on time (the females will stay here tonight due to the fact that snot has taken over in their tiny noses). I think for my first time posting I deserve a job well done.
